I dunno guys, the seller has 100% positive feedback and he said he found this coin in his grandparents house when cleaning. This could be a very important discovery, even though coins are not his forte and he knows nothing about them.
<< <i>I was very surprised not to see a "CC" on the reverse. >>
I looked for that too.......

As if one even needed to look at the picture after hearing the date. Is this one of the ten known proofs? Ha.
Gee, I wish I could contact whoever bid on that and ask them if they want to also purchase my Mona Lisa and Van Gogh "Sunflowers" paintings. (I've got "Starry Night", too.)
Never mind that all of those paintings are supposedly in museums. Mine are the real ones, I swear. The ones in the museums are the fake ones.
PS- looks as though this is a real case of seller ignorance rather than a scam. He put a note in his auction about having been told it was a fake.
Didn't take down the auction, but I give him credit for adding the caveat, anyway.
I just had a pleasant exchange of messages with the seller, who's an honest guy and really didn't know any better. He just pulled the plug on the auction himself, before eBay got to it.
I sent the seller a polite note about it being a fake as well. I got back a message so full of profanity that I could not print it here. It would look like this: IF YOU THINK THAT I *&()&*^&*( (& or ()**&**&*^&%^%$% THEN YOU HAVE A %^#$#% .....
Hard to read those messages. But, it appears he got the true message and now ebay did too!

so would that be a good name for a business with a sign out front, or would everyone run away in terror?
