I'm excited - my first stadium seat! Crosley Field

I had never thought about picking up a stadium seat - but when it came to me at a really nice price - refurbished - I couldn't say no.
My thought? Wouldn't it be nice to have a piece of baseball history? People sat in these seats and cheered for their team in victory and defeat.
Since we all 'google' - I'll just give the most rudimentary remarks on the stadium.
Crosley field was used by the Cincinnati Reds from May 18, 1912 to June 24, 1970.
It was originally called Redland field- in 1934 Powel Crosley purchased both the park and the team and renamed it Crosley Field.

The only thing I'm considering is putting a simple base under the seat to make it more stable. Also, note that it has an "end plate" - which means it was at the end of the row - but - of course - not part of the 'other' end with the coveted figural.
And, the seller included a certificate and copy of a leaflet showing that they were picked up at an auction in Russellville, Ohio.
As I said - having a piece of baseball history is just too cool. Opening this box was one of the better things I've ever had the pleasure of unearthing from the boatload of bubble wrap!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
You are on a roll lately with your pickups!
Robert
Personally, I wouldn't put a base on it, I would mount it in the living room, right in front of th TV.
Hard to beleive I'm still married!!!
It looks even better than I pictured. Congrats on a cool addition to your collection.

<< <i>Great pickup! I can see it's seat # 5, but is there any indication of what row or section? Maybe on the paper work? If so, I would look for a ticket stub, if not, maybe a ticket stub for any seat 5.

Hi Mike
These seats were bought at an auction where one can buy a major chunk of seats - weather beaten and rusted out.
The seller arbitrarily had the guy who restored them put #5 as a tribute to Johnny Bench. Which is fine with me.
<< <i>Very nice. But DOC ... where DO you put it all???? >>
Hiya Doug
Mary and I have a detente in motion - and the allies have granted me a lend-lease in the form of a room she never used anyways!
I already put up a temp shelf to bring out the games - I'll be off to Ikea real soon - she helped with organizing wall space. Some good ideas have been thrown around.
I'm a happy collector!
<< <i>I love it! I grew up a Reds fan. My brother(13 yrs. older than me) was at the 1970 all-star game when Rose ran over Fosse. >>
That was at Riverfront Stadium; not Crosley
