Done - at Provident

Provident Metals 100 oz Engelhard (probably extruded) bars for $0.40/oz over spot. With shipping, they're about $130 cheaper (at ~$3,450) than APMEX (at ~$3,580). Just lettin' you know.

  • Try selling a 100 oz when silver makes a big move. early 80's in Sacramento we were buying them at 20 back of spot and did not want them. We rather treat our local customers first and not out of towners who had trunks full of Eng 100's

Better off with 5s or 10's

I have never experienced that. I sold sold some decent quantity at $40 and $42 with no problems. Maybe if silver makes a $20 in a week move you might be right.

Provident will buy them back today. I expect that if you can't sell them locally in the future you will be able to sell them back to Provident.

it makes sense- smaller to mid sized dealers not doing volume in bars wont touch it when prices move dramatically...... unless substantially discounted.

why put your money there when there is higher profit margins in scrap or rare coins......

Last spring I sold a few 100 ozers when silver was high. Dealers I knew reluctantly bought them. I do not think they would of purchased them had they not known me or paid as fairly as they did. Since then I only purchase 10s or less.
