Have you ever sold something and happy the deal fell through?

I have been selling certain coins off so I can buy ones that I plan on keeping in my final collection.
This particular coin was in a bulk purchase that a dealer was supposed to buy but the deal fell through on his end.

I have to admit that I really didn't want to include this one in the deal so even though the deal fell through I was happy to get this backimage
It probably will be eventually sold for a higher grade but I still love it rawimage

Yes, and even though I have sold thousands of coins, I can name the few coins I regret selling.

I have sold coins and then tried to buy them back, they said nope.

    I'm still sad.

No but a couple years ago I did have a caller frantic to get a hold of me by phone and email. He accidentally put a bid of $3000 on a Walker I was selling on eBay and was worried the bid would go wild. I told him I would hold him to $35. The bid went a tic above 35 so I ended up offering it to the 2nd highest bidder for $35.00 who was happy to take it.

why wouldnt your bidder just retract his bid ?

I was not on Ebay I was dealing with a dealer direct. We were doing a deal to purchase a large amount of different coins I have,
the deal fell through as he couldn't come up with the total amount of money to go through with the purchase.

Hence I have the only real coin I wanted to keep.....I would not have minded to sell the restimage

  • No, but I have sold a lot where I wish the deal fell through.

Let's see. I've arranged trade deals that I was glad fell through when I met the other collector in person to consummate the deal. I've also sold coins that I was able to eventually get back. Both happy events.

I have had bidders fail to pay on ebay.

In almost every instance, I get a higher price when I relist the item image
