Question on eBay Bidding

Any ideas how this could happen?

1. Member Id: e***e ( 7238) wins a 1967 Topps Hockey card on Aug. 6th for $43.85

2. Same guy bids $16.66 for the same card, same PSA serial number on Sep. 9th

Am I missing something here? Links are below.

eBay Win on Aug 6th

eBay bid on same card on Sep. 5th

  • Possibly he bought it. Either decided he didn't like it or was speculating and reconsigned it. The question then becomes did he place a bid on his own item? Only the auction host would know if the buyer in the first auction was the consignor in the second. I would like to think there's another reason but at the present time another explanation for it eludes me. Makes you scratch your head, doesn't it?

    Strange.
But whats more amazing is that mets-71 has bid on over 300 items and has never been outbid. The guys bids to win for sure.
Doesnt seem like shaddy business as the guy seems like a true bidder to me.
Not sure what is happening though. But it looks like the first auction wasnt honored maybe? And now its back up and the bidder still wants the card?
  • How can you tell he's never been outbid?
