There used to be several variations of an old joke floating around which went something like this: "The USPS recently issued a series of stamps commemorating the ???th anniversary of Prostitution/brothels in Nevada. 29 cents face value, but $1 each if you want to lick them!"

yesterday at a small Canadian Post office in Union Bay on Vancouver Island![:) :)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Yesterday also - discount postage. Put so many stamps on an Air Mail letter to London there was hardly room for the address.
I lick stamps all the time. Discount postage and my former collection.
This afternoon - my long average cost for business postage purchased off ebay is currently around 72% of face value.
I go through about $2500 in face value postage a year. I save about $700 per year.

Last week, a $5 Columbian from 1992. I like to use reissues of classic stamps on packages I send.
