Can someone help me with my Ebay auction....my images disappeared??

coinsarefuncoinsarefun Posts: 21,757 ✭✭✭✭✭
Never had this happen before. I noticed tonight that the image link to Photobucket has be deleted or moved.

I have not changed a thing in Photobucket......what happened?

I uploaded the original images in one of the three auctions just to show what the coins look like....but still have no idea as what happened to the image links???

Can I fix the missing links in the body of the auction? Or am I left with only uploading images?

This is an example of the missing images

This is a link to the images I just uploaded into the box to the left and the body remains missing

Here is a link to the photobucket page

As a side note the token images have not disappeared. I listed them at the same time. And I use Ebay Turbo Lister2

    1. are you certain they were in the listing to begin with?

    2. is the code for the images still in the listings?

    3. did you use the proper code link to the images in your album(s)?

i do see that perhaps the ebay software added some code to your links. i haven't had this happen in a long time but it did used to happen to me from time to time. i think myspace used to do the same

    thing to prevent outside links

you can see the inserted part

    .

if you think not having those images attached will negatively affect your listings, you can just re-add the proper links with the add more information section, but will be at the bottom of the auction listing(s).

The directory names look different. The link you gave to Photobucket says "Ebay Sept 2nd 2012 ASE graded and tokens for sale" in the directory name, where the images on eBay the directory name ends at "graded".

Change it back so the first round of auctions resolve properly, then create a new directory with the name you used for the token auctions, move those images there, and those will resolve properly as well.

    I hope that makes sense...

I created a sub album for the tokens and they don't seam to be appearing.......but it did take care of the original problem of the ASE's not showing up.

Maybe I should make it a regular album and not a sub album?

If by "sub album" you mean it's an album in the "Ebay Sept 2nd 2012 ASE graded" folder then it is not going to work. You need one folder named "Ebay Sept 2nd 2012 ASE graded" for the ASE auction and another named "Ebay Sept 2nd 2012 ASE graded and tokens for sale" for the token auctions. Making it a subfolder the path looks like "Ebay Sept 2nd 2012 ASE graded/and tokens for sale", and that slash will cause it to fail. The path in the HTML code needs to be exactly the same as the directory path on your image hosting site. In this case it's just easier to revise the folder name than the code.

Looks good, you're just missing a couple of the pics on the Waterbury CT token, maybe you didn't copy them all over into the new directory?

  • Here is another ebay imaging question: Is it possible to get NGC images downloaded into an ebay auction, the "copyrighted" ones? Screenshot option if all else fails or do I need to call them? And presumably with PCGS you have to pay for imaging because they do not have it with most orders? I do not have a good camera digital imaging system at this point.
