Teletrade's Slow Shipping ? ** Recieved Today **

I've been buying from Teletrade for more than 4 and 1/2 years to the tune of about
400 auctions, didn't count the number of coins but a whole bunch. To me and in
my opinion their shipping department has slowed way down. When I called the
other day about a shipment they said there were several thousand coins to ship
and that slowed them down I guess is what they meant. They have 4 auctions
every week and if their business has picked up that much and get behind I would
think they should employee more people to get shipments out. How would you as a
buyer feel if every time you bought a coin off a auction site or even more so an eBay
seller and they waited 3 to 5 days before they shipped?

Another thing is that when you buy from HA.com they will combine auction wins for a
couple of days to one amount of postage. Teletrade charges for each day's auction
and their postage seems high to me when I pay $11. for 6 coins in one package that
cost $300.

Perhaps Teletrade is growing faster than it thought and needs to think about a few things
to make buying there easier for the bidder and I could never even think about selling there
because of the length of time it takes to load your coins and get paid for them as was pointed
out in another thread the other day. That poster told if he sent them ungraded coins for them
to send to a TPG and then list them and for him to get paid was something like 3 months or more.

Sorry TT but ya need too step up and I didn't even mention the customer service person seemed
kind of rushed also.

My last win was the Aug 27 auction that I paid that day, got the email with tracking yesterday. I know there was a holiday but still consider that slow.
Dang eBay take's money out of my pocket if I don't ship the next day. Often wondered how the big auction houses would end up being graded if they were rated like eBay.

I just received my coins from Sunday a week ago's auction.

    Average speed is my take.

    Tiny: Fair points.

I believe Teletrade should not only combine shipping charges where appropriate as you mentioned, but should also allow collectors to combine auction wins over a week or two period to achieve a higher total sales price if that results in a sales tax exemption (e.g. $1,500 in total sales here in CA can result in an exemption from sales tax). Other auction companies do this already and Teletrade should as well to benefit its collector customers and be competitive on all levels.

I'm with you on this one. We've become an "Instant Gratification" country. I paid, so where's my stuff? I want it tomorrow, and shipping should be free!

I agree that if business picks up than hiring of employee's should also, even if they are Temps. It doesn't take a whole lot of knowledge to ship a coin, just proper training.

Won a TT auction on Monday and more on Tuesday. Monday's coins arrived today and Tuesday's coins shipped today.

Can not be that difficult to combine lots to ship when lots are won on consecutive days? I'm sure they did not ship my lots next day!!!!!

I sent an email to TT before these Auctions to inquire if they could ship them together. The President of TT said sorry, no can do.

Now, let me transition from the collector side to the business side of things. Since we are an "Instant Gratification" country, I have to get your lots shipped to you as quickly as possible. I do not know if you are bidding on any future auctions, and if you are, who is to say you will win those lots?

How about this: Give me a credit on my account for shipping fee's charged for lots won in the same week. Then take those fee's off my next purchase. Seems like a "Win, Win?"

I would buy more from Teletade if they did this. I pass on many coins because They will not combine there auctions. To get over the $1500.00 exemption would save me $$$$

Perhaps they share the shipping dept with other Spectrum Group companies, like Stacks-Bowers.

That would explain the slow shipping times.
  • Got my 6 coins I won on 8-27-12 They where shipped first class mail which I paid $11. for
and the package had no postage charge but figured from the USPS site the cost would
    have been like 5 bucks.

Yes sir, I'm getting tired of high price postage and snail ship out time. I don't want it when
I pay for it just in a reasonable time frame.

Unlike ebay, they charge for handling as well.
So, you have materials/insurance/AND handling charges built in.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
