Newp: Anglo-Saxon hammered coinage

Just got this. Couldn't resist. It looks great in hand, with the surfaces looking very flashy.
From the dealer's web site:
Edward the Confessor (1042-1066), Silver Penny, 1.00g., 18mm, Radiate-Small Cross type (1044-1046), York - Hrafn (Old Norse = Raven), radiate crowned bust left, +EADPRD REX:, rev., small cross pattée, with annulet privy mark in field, +RÆFEN ON EOFER, (N.816; S.1173), extremely fine, exquisitely toned.
The annulet privy mark is used at York during this reign and would appear to have a clear and specific meaning in distinguishing the coins of York. During the Confessor's reign the revenue from the mint at York went to the Archbishop of York.

<< <i>I'll bet that pretty penny set you back a pretty penny!
Thanks.
Relative to the series, it was "affordable". But, I did pay a modest premium for its eye appeal. I really, REALLY, love this piece. The reverse is the nicer side, with attractively toned iridescent flash. The obverse is also very attractive, but slightly less flashy because the patina is a bit heavier.
The image does not capture the eye appeal well.

I currently own a couple but I don't plan on many more,
I am trying to keep my collection so that each piece has a minimal grade of aEF. So far, I have 3 sceattas (one each of primary, secondary and Frisian), a bunch of high grade, nice eye appeal, common A2, Cnut and ETC varieties, a York Danelaw, a very high grade Burgred, and ... (my trophy piece) a portrait Coenwulf.
Please PM me if your remaining pieces are within my grade range and you wish to sell.

I don't plan on selling now, but if I ever decide to I'll let you know first. You should post your whole collection in one thread, I bet they look very impressive together.
Before I can show my collection, I need to make greater inroad with the non-tribute pieces. It'll take a while, since I'm on a limited budget (aren't we all?) and like to purchase high-quality specimens and thus only add at an opportunistic rate (I only bought my first last November).
