What's the Nicest Card you Own for the Grade it Received?

Here's your chance to show off the nicest card you own which received a low grade. Mine is a PSA 6 Bob Gibson. The card is a slam dunk 9 except for a very small amount of paper loss on the reverse at the corner. The front is nearly perfect. I really wish that corner were intact. image The snow on the card is a result of the scanner.

I honestly have no idea why this got a 6. BBCE sent it in 3 times before i bought it, hoping for an upgrade. I think it could easily get a 7, but what do BBCE and I know haha.

There's a very very very light wrinkle on this:

Nice cards. They have great eye appeal for the money. Orioles, you may want to try subbing that Brooks one more time. Do you know if BBCE cracked it out each time or submitted it as a review?
  • This is one of my favorites. A couple tiny wrinkles keep it from a much higher grade. I LOVE this card!

  • I wish I had a better scan of this card, but this scan will give you the gist of it. No creases, no snow, great color and image, back is centered and flawless. The main weakness is the bottom corners, but I'm not even certain that's what dropped the grade down. They aren't that bad.
If I saw this card in a 6 holder, I would not think twice about it.

Killer cards, all! I knew this thread would deliver. image

I could post a few cards in this thread, but this one will always be a favorite. One of the first vintage cards I picked up about 10 yrs. ago. Only a couple small surface wrinkles on the front hold it back from EX-MT.

I know they told me but I cant seem to remember if they cracked it or not. I think they just subbed it as a review each time, but im not sure.

Back is perfect, there are no creases, no paper loss, no nothin' - I have no idea why this is a 2 other than it was a mistake. I will re-sub at some point...

Some really nice cards here. So how many times over VCP AVG would you bid for these types of cards? If you had a OC or round corner version vs some of these examples, what premium would you place on them? I know I'd much rather have a '52 Mantle PSA 1 with a pinhole and otherwise NM vs some of the PSA 1's I see out there. I would think such a Mantle would sell for 2 or 3 times the PSA 1 VCP avg.

Tiny bit of paper loss on the back made this a $10 card.

This is a tremendous example of this card but there is the smallest wrinkle that you can only see under extremely bright light on the back. I was so disappointed as this was in a BGS 8.5 holder and I cracked it out to send in raw.

Hogan just opened a beach shop in Clearwater and if he does in any in store signings this one is getting cracked once more and getting signed.

Great cards everyone. Small amount of paperloss on the back that does not interfere with writing.

I always thought this was a nice card. It's currently in a PSA 2 holder.
