Jeter SP RC - PSA 9 vs. BGS 9 - Huge Price Difference?

So I have just begun to look into this card. Wondering why there is such a huge price difference btw the PSA 9s and BGS 9s? Seems like the latter is the better buy with high subgrades, or am I missing something about this card? Of course PSAs usually command more, but this gap as of late seems big. Perhaps it's Registry driven. For the price of a PSA 9 one might as well jump up to the BGS 9.5, it seems.

This card and the jordan simply will not cross over. Crack and sub if one dares to.

I don't know if there is a baseball card getting more attention than this one in the hobby. It just seems to be brought up here very often and is always a hot topic

The biggest reason for the price discrepancy can be categorized as concern with regard to "authenticity." While not the case in all high grade BGS SP Jeters, there is serious concern to many being "original" edges. Read that however you want, but I've seen my share and doubt that many would pass muster with PSA.
I've had pack fresh cards rejected from PSA as EOT and MINSIZE while I've seen butchered cards residing in the heavy armor of a BGS holder. I'm not saying that PSA is tougher on the merits of the card, but I think they are a little more prudent and/or cautious with regard to encapsulating this card in PSA 9 or higher...
