What is going on with all the reserves on "weekly" internet auctions?

I see a lot of sales in several auction houses that have either opening bids or reserves set high.
You can tell where outside consignors have no reserve and sometimes those coins go cheap but they are mostly cheaper coins.
Anything that is gold or over $500 seems to have a reserve which is more like a bid or buy sale than an auction.
Does anyone else notice this trend?

<< <i>Seateddime,
why don't you check your own wares, aren't you the one who has a buy it now on HA.com for an 1867 10c ms67 ngc (formerly pcgs ms66) for $10k, I believe you have had it listed for about 6+ months. I guess you don't call that a high reserve huh? or maybe everyone else should sell low for you so you can sell high....seriously dude you make no sense. In fact when i used to check out your ebay coin site I would think to myself, everything this guys got is overpriced........sheesh. So tired of hearing your rants about sruff you are guilty of, maybe it was best that you didn't win that dime at the stack's auction, I would be shocked if you did win it since you would have been the high bidder and that is un......oh wait I forgot it was selling cheap.........
That was kinda mean

Just as buyers are just "kicking the tires" sometimes, seller do too.
