Counting Machine Damage

It occurs to me as I was photographing the coin shown below that this is the first time that I have seen a slabbed coin with counting machine damage in hand before. I have seen some in photos of course and I have seen raw coins with machine damage, but never a slabbed one in hand.

Are they talking about the rub below the collar?

I'm not familier with the mechanics of a counting machine.

I'm surprised they genuine'd it for that. I would have suspected they would just net grade it.

counting machine or crimper on the coin shotgun roller.

below the collar curving to on the tip of the collar and even what appears to be on the top of the hair right as it attaches to the forehead.

peel enough coin rolls and you see this many, many times to the top coin in the rolls in the box.

MS62 is normally the assigned grade I see for CH to Gem coins with CMD.

For anyone that wants to see this in hand just pick up a bank box of cents. You're guaranteed to find a few with a nice round circle which is very apparent because of the color of the zinc showing.

It is actually a pretty nice coin for a 1961. I can't show the reverse unless I crack the coin out because the slab is scratched to hell.
