Double Coin Slabs

I got an email from our host asking if I wanted the Double Coin holder for my 1012-S ASE set in for grading. They included a photo of the new holder:

What do you think? Like it or don't like it?
Are you getting it for your 2012-S set? Or the regular separate holders?
Would you have gotten it for the five coin 2011 ASE set if one was available? Five coins doesn't seem practical unless all coins are the same grade.
I decided to get it for this two coin set but I'm not sure if I will utilize it in the future unless there is another two coin set. It seems like a logical progression for slabs and keeps a set together. There is the problem of unmatched grades. Hmmmmm???
Do you think other TPG's will offer multiple coin holders too? Will this be a success for PCGS?

I would just get individual slabs since that way you can always store in a regular slab box. If you want to display them side by side you can just push the two slabs together.

Didn't mean to come off as rude, if I did, just wanted you to see the extensive thread about the pros and cons discussed, which have already quickly been brought up here.

I've seen ATS do a 5 coin holder with different grades. I've also seen PCGS do a 5 coin holder, but all with the same grade.

I much prefer the individual slabs from an auction house standpoint (storage, shipping and so forth). I also think it gives you the greatest flexibility.

I guess for a multi-coin set (i.e. the 2012-S ASE set like you described, proof sets, etc.), it could be an okay idea but in general, I would definitely prefer the individual slabs for the sake of flexibility when selling.

If you're going to be holding onto whatever coins you're slabbing for many years though, I suppose it's your personal preference.

Very interesting but you are asking the wrong question ... instead of asking whether you should display side-by-side or not ... you should ask yourself if you'll ever want to sell one and keep the other ...

That question was debated last week on the currency board. A forum member has two notes with matching SNs and block #s, and debated whether to split them up. He had a real choice because they weren't slabbed in the same slab. If you get the double, they'll always have to be sold together image
