This is vol. 12 of the Proceedings of the Coinage of the Americas conference, published by the American Numismatic Society, and contains articles by well-known early copper afficionados (Denis Loring, John Wright, Mark Borckhardt, etc.). Unfortunately, it is out of print.

To date, there are 16 volumes in the COAC Proceedings series. The individual volumes focus on particular themes, such as medals, tokens, silver dollars, or circulating counterfeits. All of the volumes contain articles that I have found to be worthwhile reading.

COAC - Circulating Counterfeits of the Americas.

On the obvious subject, both US and the rest of the Americas. Especially good with regards to two reales pieces.

If you are interested in counterstamped/countermarked coins, this is a useful reference.
