It's a Hit! TV Baseball Game

I know know my games don't get a lot of traction - but I'm gonna share anyway.

It's a Hit! TV Baseball Game - Prevue-Radsell Co, 1950s

I've seen the game with 3 different sponsors - this one being Beacon - I'm also including here what appears to be some kind of a "proof" since it has no advertiser.

My guess? These are "premiums" handed out to customers.

The instructions on the back are pretty simple and it involves trying to use the tiny mirror to trace the base path employing the mirror - so everything is backwards.

The BB Game list includes three advertisers - (1) Calumet Iron, (2) Beacon Sales. Beacon being the more ubiquitous.

I added a new one to the list (at the BB Game web) from an ebay sale: (3) Kendall Polly Power Gas.

I passed since it was missing the mirror.

So - here's the "proof" first:

And now the "Beacon" version of the game:

I was drawn to the game due to the fact that it's never been folded - the mirror is a bit rusty - I'm sure it was in a damp place?

Just to add - I found the patent for the game.

Here's the patent diagram showing it folded:

Over the years I've picked up many "premium" baseball games - the oldest going back to 1885!

Thanx for viewing guys. image

I know very little about vintage board games and always appreciate your passion and the education. Good to hear from you Mike. Take care, Terry

+1. I was able to buy a small part of my childhood back because of one of Stones posts last week. He posted a neat baseball bank that he had purchased and it brought back a fond remembrance for me. I then went to eBay and tracked one down for myself. It's proudly sitting on my coffee table as I type. A $30 reminder of time spent at the ballpark with my dad, who had used his scarce resources back in the 70's to take his son to the game and buy me one of those same banks that I treasured for years

Very interesting stuff...it's remarkable a game like that survived intact all these years!
