Need help with Satchel Paige Signed Jersey

Hey all, I've stepped over from the coin forum to ask about a Jersey. Is there a way I can get an estimated value of a Satchel Paige game worn signed Monarchs jersey? Are there any auction sites I can visit, for a good referance, as to it's value? Have these been sold before? If so, for how much? Is this the right forum?
From a coinhead. Thanks!

There are message boards that would be able to get you a better idea as to value and authenticity as they deal mainly with game used items. I dont have the URL handy but I am sure a quick Google search for "game used universe" will get you what you need. If this is indeed a true game used Paige Monarchs jersey that will bring big bucks and should probably go to an established and trusted auction house like Robert Edwards Auctions.
This was an Indians jersey, not signed.
.. picture? Did he give it to you?

For the OPs sake let's hope not.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I'm with Ironmanfan on this one (skeptic) and echo what mccardguy and sbfinley said. If indeed you think you have a real Satchel Paige GU jersey, and signed, call REA first thing Monday morning. Here's the info.

They are the best in the business. Call them, tell them what you have and you'll probably get to talk to Rob Lifson personally. They can guide you on valuation and if you want to sell, they'd be the auction to consign to.
Now, to the matter at hand, Paige died in 1982 and at that time it was EXTREMELY uncommon for anyone to get game used jerseys signed. Uniforms and jerseys were very hard to get, teams didn't sell them off like they do now. Jersey collectors wanted to see game used and nothing else. It wasn't until the 1990s when signed replica jerseys became the rage that there was widespread signing of game used jerseys as well. Therefore, the fact that it is signed is one big red flag. As far as I know there is only one KC Monarchs jersey belonging to Paige in anyone's hands, and it is in the Negro League museum in Kansas City. Negro League game used jerseys in general are as scarce as T206 Wagner cards.
If your item is indeed legit, you're probably looking at something in the neighborhood of $200,000 - $400,000 if not more. Basically you win the lottery. A Paige Indians jersey sold for about $100,000 a while back but a Monarchs jersey would be worth significantly more.
Can I ask where/how you found this gem?
