Was your first ebay negative a dagger for your sales?

One of my buddies just received 2 negs on 1 sale and he is concerned it will affect his future sales. The buyer complained that shipping was too high and even received a refund that was higher than the few cards that were lost. Has a neg affected your sales?

Generally speaking, no. What is the feedback percentage? What is the total number? Have your friend use the "reply to feedback" and put a quick line saying something like "refund given for shipping and still left neg"

Unless the negative feedback was 100% warranted (fraud items, no delivery and not making good on it, or rude service, then you most likely will not see a dip in sales. If this was his tenth sale and his percentage is 90%, that might have an impact.

Probably sold a few auctions to one seller. Am I right?

  • received 2 negs from the same buyer (one transaction). His feedback score is 481 and wrote in the reply that buyer agreed to combined shipping policy when bidding on the item.

The buyer also complained the cards were shipped in a 40 card plastic holder and not toploaders but didn't say anything about damaged cards.

I'm just one fish in the ebay sea. For me, the negs themselves in a pool of 400+ mean nothing, but I would read the comments. Shipping complaints on an auction with stated shipping prices are nuts and I'd feel bad the seller. The toploader comment would scare me off. Imho cards shouldn't be shipped in penny sleaves.

I agree with the penny sleeves but when your shipping 30+ cards, they should be fine in a snap down plastic case.

That sounds safe. If the guys comment makes it seem like something different, maybe a note about the exact packaging in the description would be enough to counter it.

Personally I wouldn't send a group of cards in those snap down cases - they do nothing for the corners. Better off putting them in a team bag and securing that.
Looking for rare Randy Moss rookies and autos, as well as '97 PMG Red Football cards for my set.

Generally, I look at the FB score first, if it is high with a 98+ percentage, i dont even care. if it is a lower percentage I may check FB, especially if the purchase is large, but in the end, with the amount of idiots on ebay, everyone will eventually get one
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
