Is Edwin Encarnacion really this good?

Or is he the next Melky Cabrera? His numbers this year are amazing (33 HR 86 RBI .566 SLG .951 OPS). This far surpasses anything in his 8 year MLB career. Is he just a late boomer at 29 or are we seeing something sinister?

I mean he has had some very good seasons in the past and has shown flashes of being a pretty good hitter. Maybe this is just the year that he has broken out.

Who knows. Guys usually peak in their late 20s, but some thought that about Melky too.

This was a contract year for EE though, and he got a pretty fat extension because of his emergence.
