Any problems with BBCE packs

I have never submitted a single pack for grading nor am I aware of any past problems, just curious if anyone has ever had an unopened pack rejected by PSA, that they purchased from BBCE. If so, what was the outcome?

This isn't intended as an insult or complaint; I have made many purchases from BBCE and always been happy with the packs and service..
<< <i>Probably no problem since the same person that runs BBCE checks the packs for PSA.

I never knew they were the same person. Interesting? No conflict of interest in grading his own packs and selling them? (Just asking, not trying to stir it up. BBCE has been phenomenal)

Steve only authenticates the packs; PSA grades them.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
<< <i>Steve doesn't grade the packs, he just validates them to ensure that the packs haven't been tampered with. I think we can all agree, especially those have dealt with Steve a lot, you are not going to find a better, more ethical person. Can't think of a better person to help collectors - he would do anything to help. I consider the hobby extremely fortunate to have people like Steve. He's what collecting is all about. Being a hockey fan, Steve is the Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, Gordie Howe of the industry. >>
Totally agree. The very fact that he took a 1980-81 Basketball pack with Magic/Bird on it and knowingly sent it for the group rip just speaks volumes.
Glad to hear he's not the actual grader though

<< <i>I've never had a problem but haven't submitted a ton of packs. I bought a raw 1969 wax pack with Nettles' RC showing and a '68 wax pack with Aaron AS showing from BBCE several years ago. I submitted them for grading several months back and both were authenticated and received PSA 9 grades. I would say there's a small risk with more modern, low cost packs because I don't know how closely they check the relatively cheap packs. We did pick up a bogus 1980 Topps baseball wax box in one of the previous rips where the pack I opened had a marked off checklist. The packs had obvious signs of resealing such as double fold lines. I just think they didn't inspect that one closely. Those cases are very rare and BBCE immediately credited everyone back for those packs. >>
Gem I know you know this, but for anyone reading.... Steve also credited everyone on that 80 box and let everyone keep the cards free. The best in the industry period.

<< <i>The minor detail that most people overlook is, when you buy packs from BBCE, they are shipped to you. Then you ship them to PSA, who in turn ships them to Steve to authenticate (sometimes Steve goes to PSA). So Steve has no idea where these packs come from. There is zero conflict of interest. >>
Jeff ... I agree with the above scenario. I believe where people think there is a conflict is if Steve has raw packs for his own inventory (let's say he buys a nice raw box from someone) and decides to get them slabbed and then sells them in their slabs. The naysayers will say that even if a pack didn't look good Steve could say it was good and his pack would then get slabbed.
Do I think he does this? NO I DO NOT. I think most of us know that he runs an honest operation.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Right. As I stated, he credited everyone back for those packs.
