Barry Sanders signed mini helmet legit?

Hey all,

I just started collecting signed mini helmets of football players I liked when I was growing up. I wanted to get opinions on this Barry Sanders mini helmet on ebay. Auction number 120932924453 (sorry don't know how to post a link). I know he had an exclusive with Schwartz Sports a while ago, but I tried to compare to psa examples and something looks off. Seller says it comes with a Schwartz Sports coa and holo. I don't know if it's me or what, but any opinions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think it's legit, Schwartz isn't a authentication company but they do a lot of in person signings. I believe they are, or once were, affiliated with Mounted Memories. However, I would probably get a PSA/DNA authenticated one for resale purposes. $100 isn't that great of a deal and you should be able to pick up a PSA authenticated one for around $100 if you are patient and wait for one to come up for auction.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

  • Js,

    Thanks for the input.

    Doug,

    Thank you for the link.
  • Schwartz is good. I'd take an autograph from a company that had an exclusive w/ an athlete over an item with just a PSA COA. PSA is the best 3rd party authenticator, but it is still just an opinion.

Schwartz Sports is 10000% legit. Mounted Memories actually bought SS years ago.
