Even if he did use roids during his career, it would be pretty impressive to see a 50 year old man make it back to the big leagues. It's not like he can tarnish his legacy anyways right?

What ever happened to his son... Kolby, Kobe, Colt? Still playing?

If he were to somehow get on someone's roster (the Astros?) and pitch one game this year, it would push back his HOF eligibility five years. That would mean he is no longer on the same stage as Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa. It might distance him a bit. It could be a strategy.

  • Guy still can throw 87 at 50, but may just be a PR deal like Canseco did. Who knows. Be interesting to see.

Averaging both their birthdays (Born on Aug & Nov 1962), it they faced off on Sept 27 or later, Clemens vs. Moyer would be a combined 100yrs old!

I bought 4 tickets to this for $10 a piece. Flipped them a few minutes later on Stubhub for $50 a piece... Not a bad afternoon. Kinda wish I was going. I've got a college buddy in Houston that has 16 and is looking to move them if anyone is interested. If you're interested in a stub after the fact, I'm sure we can work something out too. LMK.

Yep, I think you hit the nail right on the head! If he can still throw mid 80's with his great control, he'll make it.

The article does mention that he throws batting practice for one of his sons. I don't know which one that is or if he is playing in the minors or not.

I hoped to get a group together but their on-line box office sold out within an hour of the announcement. I'll gladly pay face to see Rocket pitch again but a penny over, not so much.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
