LOUISVILLE SLUGGER BAT BANK

I have always wanted a copy of this bank but always held out and that procrastination paid off!

I found this one that's got the original packing sleeve and box - unfortunately the box is devoid of graphics of any kind but still cool.

This one - is believed to be from the early 70s from the seller - McCann - I concur based on Kessinger.

Again - having the original packing sleeve makes this a big pickup for me.

Also - I like the "player" bats better than the team version.

Players:

1. Mickey Mantle
2. Tony Oliva
3. Hank Aaron
4. Johnny Bench
5. Roberto Clemente
6. Don Kessinger
7. Ray Fosse
8. Carl Yastrzemski
9. Frank Robinson
10.Pete Rose

Thanx for viewing. I haven't been buying anything lately - have been very busy of other things which has put the hobby - for me - on the back burner for a bit. I enjoyed catching up over the past few days!

That's pretty sweet. I used to have one kind of like that but it was team bats instead. Nice pickup

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

    That's a great pickup Mike!

  • Very cool. It also shows how highly regarded Ray Fosse was prior to the injury from
    the Pete Rose collision.

Definitely not trying to hack your thread, here, because those bats are cool and very nice that you have the orginal packaging. But, it reminded me that I have a set of them, as well, that were my Fathers. Same bank, different color, and the bats are natural wood color and have the following names:

    Harvey Kuenn
    Rocky Colavito
    Gus Triandos
    Ernie Banks
    Mickey Mantle
    Nelson "Nellie" Fox
    Roger Maris
    Ed Matthews
    Al Kaline
    Henry Aaron

Written in pen on the bottom of the bank is "Aug 1961". I haven't done a few searches for these banks on the internet, but have found little and know very little about them.

Where did they come from? Any value to them? Any info you can provide will defnitely be appreciated.

    Thanks!!

Very cool, Mike. Thanks for sharing image
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

    Thanx guys.

Mike - that's a very cool bank - I like the wooden bats - I believe those were made more in the late 50s/early 60s.

I've seen those go for more than 500$!

Price will vary according to condition Mike - but some have paid good money for them.
