    Looks MS- I would submit but this date is not as tough as the cat value would suggest

  • I agree that this is a common coin in AU with good showings of luster around the strings. Very difficult to find in UNC with a large percentage of red showing though.

    As with all coins the value is not as high for a brown UNC coin as for a red UNC coin. For this date a ch.unc red coin would make multiples of a similar brown coin.

    I too think this coin is MS but some of the surface marks might drop it down to AU58/55 ?

    AU58 at the very least. MS Brown wouldn't surprise me at all, though. It's a very nice looking penny.

    Edit- after a second look, I'm gonna go for MS63 BN.

    I suppose in Failed to suggest a numerical grade- 63 Brown seems reasonable
