    Had to look it up. Very interesting. 1871 ... because there were NO GAMES! (Although in the prior two years, the first in college football, only 2 games were played each year.)

    Is this a trick question? There has never been an official NCAA D1-A / D1 FBS championship.

    Holy cow! I didn't know we even had a football team back them. BTW, it was the University of Buffalo. The SUNY system didn't come along until a lot later.

    One bad call by the ref in the 3rd quarter cost Buffalo in that one. It wasn't a blowout like score indicates.
