1993 Jeter SP - Worth Getting A 9?

So I'm finally starting to get around to this card, but wondering if it's just too common in 9 to retain value even with his popularity (some might say over-ratedness). The 10s are silly and I generally think 10s are not worth the huge premium over great 9s. So what do we all think of this card? And what would one look for in a 9 to see if it is truly undergraded and perhaps as good as a 10? I'd also imagine this card has a colossal "phantom" nine population considering the staggering price jump from 9 to 10.

This kind of begs another thread topic: what are the biggest single price jumps among star cards from one grade to the next, EXCLUDING 10s of course. The PSA 8 to 9 Koufax RC leaps to mind. As does 8-9 Reggie RC, Rose RC, and 71 Munson. 76 Brett is another 8-9 jump that is eye popping. Makes finding the lesser graded one that is undergraded a potentially huge value on review or-- if bold-- crack and resub.

The fact that they only have 9 PSA 10 Jeters out of 10,000 plus cards submitted to PSA justifies the price increase in my mind, but with 10K submissions the name SP should probably be changed to Sort of Short Print.

SP stands for Super Premium, not short print.

Funny about the sheer amount of submissions. I have yet to really start looking at VCP scans of the Jeter, but wonder if the 10s are really free of some usual/endemic issue that plagues the card (ie Gibson RC centering, Koufax RC smudging on yellow, Brett 76 smudging, Drexler RC smudging, Bird Magic black line), or are there lots of 9s out there that could've been 10s on a good day.
