difference between mcmlxxxvii gold eagle value and dated gold eagle?

are there any differences in value between a 1998 gold eagle, or a mcmlxxxvii gold eagle?

  • i didn't think so either, but i've been told that the earlier american eagle 1 ozers with the roman numeral dates are more desirable. any truth to that?

    No, both of the dates you mentioned are common. Most 1 oz. AGEs have very little premium.

    It's all about mintage numbers and grade (if you are a label collector)
