1977 OPC box with 32 packs on eBay, opinions

I don't know if this is a board member here but these packs look fishy. Seller claims to have recently bought from bbcexchange.

You could always ask for a picture of the bottom of the wax box as Steve generally always places a BBCE sticker on the box bottoms... Not that proving the box is from BBCE means they aren't tampered with but if he's at least honest about the boxes history might mean something...

I'm pretty certain that the seller in the eBay link you provided is CU member corvette1340. Maybe he will see the thread title and weigh in.

I think my concern would be why are 16 packs missing? Did he hit all of the stars out of the first 16 packs, or did he realize the centering for the box was terrible so he stopped?

Could be Tommy, seeing as the seller does jewelry too.

If that is the case, authenticity is probably not an issue, though I would like to hear why he didn't open the whole box.

That is my auction. I bought the full box from bbce about a year or so ago along with about 10-12 other '77 packs sporadically added to group rips. I opened 9 or 10 packs and the left to right centering wasn't the best. I sold 6 packs with stars showing and these 32 packs are left out of the full box. I believe one of them has a George Brett Record Breaker on the back.
Not sure why you'd say the packs look fishy though. Also, bbce doesn't affix a sticker directly to the box bottom as most of you know. But rather to the outside wrap on the bottom.

I have 100% perfect feedback with 5.0 in every category except shipping charges which is a 4.9, and that PSA 5 Mantle was indeed razor sharp. The case was flawless too.

Most of the packs look good but some of them have corners that look horrid in your pictures on one side. Scrunched up corners or no corner fold at all.

Not questioning your ebay feedback, as it is immaculate.
However, you use razor sharp in many of your titles for cards that are PSA 7's that have obvious corner wear (1971 Topps for example).

I thought razor sharp was a term only used for cards that were so sharp they could cut you. I guess the term is used a little more loosely then I thought. No big deal anyway.
  • Semantics people! It is the sellers perogative to open the packs or not based on his opinion of the condition coming out. I wouldn't worry about the authenticity of them considering he is a well known board member here. See how many in the group rip wait for people to start posting their Feer Basketball. I guarantee that half of them will grade the packs they get if the first few come out off center. Anyway,as for using "razor sharp", some use disposable, some use Mach 3s and some still use the straight razor.

So basically you purchased a box and saw the centering was horrible, so you searched for and sold off the stars. Now you're selling the searched, poorly centered box and using BBCE's name to add credibility to it.

    Classy.

My opinion, these packs are 100% clean. I would also guess this box was purchased around the same time I bought a box from BBCX(guessing) and that the box came
from the same batch. I cracked my whole box and about 80% or so was very badly centered/miscut. Wish I stopped as well...

Thank you. I don't think anyone on here can question my honesty. I've done tens of thousands of dollars worth of transactions on here and well over a hundred thousand on eBay without anyone being dissatisfied. I may be an a$$h0le sometimes, but I'm an honest one.

He bought the box from BBCE, why not use it. He looked at the back of the packs, so what. If you had a box of racks and didn't like the centering on the first few on top, would you close the lid and not look at the rest?
