What to expect when selling modern commons

I am in the process of selling roughly 70,000 cards (mainly near mint to mint baseball from 1980 - 1986). What is a reasonable price on commons from those years. I was offered $1 per thousand by one buyer, but thought that was a bit low. any input/experiences would be greatly appreciated. what about binders of hall of fame and superstars from those same years? thanks

1955 Bowman Raw complete with 90% Ex-NR or better
Now seeking 1949 Eureka Sportstamps...NM condition
Working on '78 Autographed set now 99.9% complete -
Working on '89 Topps autoed set now complete
However, if they were offering to buy all 70k of the cards, then about $70-$75 is about right. There is still too much wax of that product out there.
Now, if you want to maximize your profits....sell them one at a time to set builders for about a nickle a piece and in about 25 years you will have sold them all for about $3500 total
To be honest, no direction, but...

That's a great link. Thank you.
I am in the process of cleaning up some 1980's stuff. . and was about ready to chuck severeal unopened boxes and sets from the horrible years (1988 - 1991) all brands. Not worth the cardboard it's printed on.
