OT: To all the current and former little league coaches here on the board

If you coach, or have coached little league, high school, college, recreation, or any summer camp in your lifetime, then I hope you feel some satisfaction watching
all the success our athletes are having at the Olympics. It's because of all the good mom's and dad's volunteering their time, even when life gets tough, that our kids
are able to grow up and accomplish the things that they do. Maybe our child wasn't the one with enough talent to make it to the Olympics, but we gave the same kind
of effort and commitment that enables our children to have great memories of their youth.

I was Usain Bolt's t-ball baseball coach. He had 750 stolen bases the one year he played.

But he never made the show because you didn't teach him to hit the curveball. You can't steal first base!!!

You can if you distract the catcher enough so he drops strike three.

My best times were when I coached or umpired baseball. It did this for many years until the old body said it was time to quit. They were great times and nery much enjoyed both ends.I seen many young boys turn in to teen agers and develop their skills. Many turned out to be great athlete in other sports besides baseball and become stars on their High School teams.
I once had the pleasure to ump homrplate a game pitched by David Borkowsk as an 17 yr old (at least thats what I was told it was Dave) the kid was unhittable and was probably throwing 90 mph with a big curve. He later pitched for Detroit,Baltimore and Houston with mixed results.During my travels as a coach I met former Major leagurs Dave Bergman and Ernie whitt who also had teams.

I was a great time in my life.I would still ump today however back issues wont allow me to.
