Dougs Card Renewal Poppage *SCANS ADDED*

I think the '56 Aaron is my favorite card of the bunch even though it's OC. The back is really well centered so I'm calling it a high end 8OC, LOL. Crappy job on my part chosing the '57 Campy and '63 Koufax, I have much better cards I could have picked but I kind of wasted a free grade with those two, Oh well. I can also see the miscut on the '65 Mantle, not sure what to do with that one now. The '58 Williams is a toughie for focus so I'm happy with it, and the '60 Koufax is sharp. As I stated in my original post the Starr was a $20 Craigslist pickup. Thanks for looking guys. Doug

Alot of '65s and '64s are miscut. The '65 J. Morgan rookie is notorious for being miscut. Would love to see scans when you get them back...especially the '56 Aaron 8oc.

Doug ... AWESOME results. Congrats on the '52 Hearn. Anytime you can pick up a HI#'d '52 for that price it's a Home Run! Even if the card was graded a "1" you would have been able to get your money back if you wanted to upgrade.

Did you get the Hearn recently? Was that also a Craigslist buy?

I really wish that PSA would slab ALL miscut cards. The card is still authentic. Put it in a slab so I can keep it with the rest of my collection of slabbed cards. They shouldn't slab some and not others.

Hey Doug, the Hearn was a local card shop purchase this year. Bought the Craigslist Starr along with some '59 baseball commons and AS cards of Mays and Aaron. I really try to be thorough as many people are with Craigslist and took my time with the cards before

buying, the guy was great. Thanks leadoff for the heads up on miscuts in the '65 set, I had no idea and haven't had many of my set graded. The Mantle looked fine to me. The '56 Aaron is really clean and sharp except for the centering image Thanks for the comments guys.

Nice job on those 52's. Those high numbers are impossible to find raw these days.

Cards received by PSA on the 6th, delivered on the 15th. Can't complain about that. Would like to hear opinions on the cards if you have a minute. Thanks. Doug

That '52 Snider presents REAL well for a "5".

Thanks Doug, PSA didn't put Black Back on the label as I requested. Boo!

    Hi Doug.
I remember telling you to buy the Koshorek. I thought it looked good. For anybody wondering about the 59 Starr it is an 8.8 quality card. High end all the way and would not look out of place in a 9 holder. That 56 Aaron is like mint; but O/C. The color is just crazy nice. Doug has a great variety of cards.

Doug......on a side note....sorry to hear about your co-worker. She will be greatly missed. An inspiration to us all.

Thanks Danny, you were the last judge on the Koshorek card and again I appreciate it. Thanks also for the well wishes for Kathi as well, it's been a long sad week for our newsroom. For those who don't know Kathi Goertzen was a longtime news anchor at my station, KOMO TV in Seattle and was a icon here for almost 30 years. Battled brain tumors for the last 12 before passing on Monday. Quite the emotional time for sure.
  • I know a guy that could have gotten you a higher grade.

I think the '63 Koufax is undergraded...at least from looking at the scan. Also, from my experience in grading, '60 Topps are the toughest for me to get decent grades on. I think the card stock is poor, there are lots of print line problems and centering problems and too bad on the '65 Mantle.
