Anyone ever haggle with Fritsch Cards?

They have some nice 1970 Topps cello packs that have been on eBay for a long, long time. Just wondering if anyone has had success with approching them and asking for a deal.

since Larry's passing.
They have been willing to discuss SMALL discounts when big dollars (5-figures and up) are on the table, but other than that I have never had
much success with them.

On 1970s unopened material?????
They rightfully/wrongfully act like they have us all by the short and curlies on 70s unopened stuff. I have never
seen any flexibility other than their "sale" prices in their catalog where they limit the quantities (and it's still no
bargain even then).

First - isn't it usually a good indicator on the quality of cards in a cello pack by seeing if the first card is centered well or not?
The Mays centering makes me think it's not a good pack

Second - where is the haggle when Fritsch has his listings as BIN with no BO?

The overpricing factor is not crazy money -- and I don't think they have any incentive to negotiate down. They don't need the money, and they probably enjoy having some marquee inventory.

Well no, but I would doubt that qualifies for a $100 order unless you were talking about stuff that folks aren't clamoring over. I'm assuming the OP is talking about a several hundred dollar order.

I have not opened too many cellos from this era but in the ones I have, there hasn't really been much correlation between the centering on the top cards and
the cards behind it. I opened a 73 jumbo cello just recently and the top card was perfectly centered and the second card was miscut.
As to the pricing of these packs--I recall about 10 years ago you couldn't touch a raw jumbo cello for less than $500. The influx of all those fake "grocery"
cellos permanently and negatively impacted the perceived value of the legit 70s cellos, imo.

It seems like they don't have much incentive to negotiate down, because they can just bring out another cello, or another vending box. And they think people will pay the first price. If you have a supply like they do, I guess you can afford to be high.
