Ethics question? or bona fortuna?

About eight months ago I sold a slab on eBay for $16. Earlier this evening, I bought it back - from the same eBayer - for $4 (25%). And yes, it's the exact same slab, cert # matches ... I don't have it in-hand yet (hammer fell a few hours ago) ...

Bona Fortuna? Why do I feel bad for him?

My max bid was $16, the price he paid me eight months ago ...

Bona fortuna. That's the way the cookie crumbles, sometimes.

However, if you wanted to be a nice guy about it, you could pay him a little bit extra for it as a kind gesture. Entirely up to you.

Once upon a time, you wouldn't see a slab sell for four bucks, even if it was a G4 1956-D Lincoln cent worth barely more than face.

I guess this is a lesson that you should always contact the dealer before selling anywhere else ... not that I'm trying to preach ...

I hear that, brutha! Perhaps that's a sign of the times (that people are buying the coins, not the slabs) - WAIT what am I talking about?!?! imageimage

*sigh* no but seriously, I probably will send him a token gift or a few extra bucks for the repeat business...
