Get a new scanner with a CCD Scanning element. All in ones (print/scan/copy) almost all have CIS scanning elements which have trouble with depth. Thus why your scan looks blurry.

I have the Epson V330, it's nice; but if you like shiny refractors, there are better options. Does AMAZINGLY on regular finishes. However, it's light source is multiple LEDs and they streak across the refractor surface because of the multiple sources. A CCD scanner with a single light source, like a Xenon tube, doesn't streak, but will get just as high quality scans.

Epson makes a good scanner.
I use the Canon CanoScan 4400F. It's a little cheaper, and almost as good.

Fantastic scanner for PSA holdered items, I don't scan "shiny" cards so I have no problems.
