National versus Sun Times/White Plains etc shows

There's been a lot of carping about the National and whether it's of use to collectors. I've been to both the National and the Mounted Memories shows in Chicago. I don't see too much difference between the two personally (for what I'm shopping for)

I'm wondering what the consensus is of the board. Would you rather attend one of the larger "local" conventions, a good sized regional show or the National?

I haven't attended very many huge shows, but I find a nice regional show more enjoyable. The National had lots of the same thing, 50's cards in VG condition. The cost of the show probably prohibits some of the dealers bringing some lower end stuff. The National was obviously a neat experience, especially to see some EBAY guys that I buy from alot. But I feel like a nice regional show, you can a few better deals.

Work hard and you will succeed!!

I love the Sun Times shows in Chicago but nothing beats the energy and anticipation of the National. I have been to literally hundreds of the local, large Sun Times-like shows in the Chicago area and have been to at least 10 nationals but nothing beats the National as I know anybody who is anybody in the hobby will probably be there.
I am on a budget and I am not afraid to use it!!
