National thoughts- My pickups/rips and thoughts of the people on the board.

First, the National was just alot of fun. The guys I met were just really nice people. Here are a few of my highlights.
First, I fellow board member and I busted seven packs each of 1986-87 Fleer. The cards were coming out clean but it was PAINFUL to not pull a MJ. It was seriously painful to drop that kind of money on that many packs and not get a MJ. I was able to sell them to a dealer for 1200.00 (1100.00+ 100.00 in cards)as not as bad as it could have been for me. I plan to buy a box of these one day from BBCE. They had two amazing looking boxes left but 14K is just not in the budget at the moment. I would try my best to keep it sealed but it would probably get ripped one night.
Second, I bought a 2002 Joey Votto Bowman Chrome Rookie Refractor / 300 BGS 9.5. Then I bought a 1986 Topps Christmas Factory Set for 3.00(lol). Then came a 1991 Elite Signature Series Ryne Sanberg Autograph. I had sold mine for $160.00 so I replaced it for 100.00 at the National.
The next day Double Striker and I busted a box of 1981 Topps Football in 79 wrappers. We both pulled a Montana Rookie so that was pretty sweet. I had never pulled the Montana and I have pulled two MJ rookies in years past so I wanted to add Montana to the pulled list. The only rookie(that I can think of now) from any sport I have not pulled in the 80s is the Bird/Magic Rookie.
Then I picked a cello pack of 1986 Topps Football and pulled the Jerry Rice in the first pack. I did buy two more packs after that and came up empty.
I also bought four Joey Votto Bowman Chrome rookies BGS 9.5's, four Aroldis Chapman Donruss Elite autographed rookies / 695, a Joey Votto SPx rookie autograph, several Todd Frazier autographs, a David Wright Bowman Chrome refractor autograph and three 1986 topps rack packs with Jerry Rice on top because I could flip those and make a few bucks.
Last, I bought a Hank Aaron Perez-Steele postcard PSA/DNA autograph from BBCE.
My favorite part of the trip was meeting the people from the boards and hanging out at the BBCE booth. I really enjoy seeing people like Mike and Eric adding to their collections. I like seeing Bobby busting 1990 Leaf and Matt busting 1989 UD. For whatever reason, that was just good to see that there are others out there with very similar interests.
I feel like I gained a few friends over the weekend and got to meet a few I already had. Also, Steve and Reed are great in person.
I'll try to get some pictures of the hits/additions to the collection posted tomorrow.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
<< <i>Glad you guys had a fun time. I so wanted to go this year, but could not swing it. MAYBE next year will be better! >>
Doug it would have been icing on the cake if you were part of this years Nat. I hope to see in Chicago
