    Awesome stuff Rob!!!

Man you were not lying about George Hackenschmidt. That dude was a beast and even more so when you consider that was 1905!!! Wow what an impressive physique.

Those are fantastic, and definitely required a lot of leg work and devotion to track down. The Strangler Lewis and Gotch cards are almost mythical!
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !

    Great photos and cards!

I'll be pedantic and point out that the NWA didn't start til 1948 and that the NWA & WCW titles were/are not the same thing.

I took the information from the poster in the wrestling museum that was in Newton, Iowa and now Waterloo. It was titled "The First Thirty Men". I stopped at ten but thought I would add on eventually. I will have to see if I have a photo of it somewhere.....

Rob ... real awesome stuff. Thanks for sharing. I was going to ask if there was a relationship between the 70's wrestler and one whose picture you showed, but I found my answer:

Larry Zbyszko (real name Lawrence "Larry" Whistler) trained under Bruno Sammartino and debuted in 1973 as the babyface "Larry Zbyszko", with his name a tribute to 1920s Polish American wrestler Stanislaus Zbyszko.
    STAY HEALTHY!

    Doug

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

I think Earl Caddock had a bit more reason for the look as he participated in World War I. :-)

Where did you ever find that 1900 Hack card? Great card. Here are a few I just got back from PSA.

Found the Hackenschmidt on ebay a few years ago and I was shocked as one had never appeared before and I was not expecting it. A truly discovered card to the wresting collectors.... It is in nice shape for a black bordered card as well. I have a spare 1915 Copes card if you are looking for one of them. They are tough as well.
