Paypal question: sending money to unverified account

I recently bought a card from someone and in my haste to finish the transaction and go back to whatever it was that I was doing, I didn't notice that the guy's paypal address was "unverified"., as in, it says "The recipient of this payment is Unverified". The payment was sent as a "goods" purchase, not a "gift."

So, in the event that this guy never sends the card, am I still protected by Paypal buyer protection, or am I hosed?

    Well, 2 days after I paid, the dude's been revealed to be a scammer. So, I started the dispute process.

    What are my chances of getting my money back?

    I believe you are covered up to a certain amount if seller is unverified. You should be able to find details
    on the paypal site.


    Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
