Steve shared with me that he's got a box of 50's Bowman wax arriving by the weekend (I can't remember the exact year - I was a little star struck talking to him - as sad as that sounds). Who knows, if history serves, the box might sell before it makes the display case.
<< <i>sadly I will not be making it this year. But man oh man, what a display BBCExchange has set up. If I found $5,000, i would have trouble spending it -- there is just so much great stuff. Great job Steve and Reed >>

When I was at the BBCE booth today, some dude bought 2 1959 Fleer Ted Williams wax boxes. Also saw someone trying to sell Steve a 1952 Topps Wax paxk graded by GAI but Steve stayed away.
I would like to have purchased the 1954 Bowman wax box but I didn't bring that extra $45K with me.

I had not busted packs for several years. Today, at the BBCE booth, I fell off the wagon and bought seven 1986-87 Fleer BB packs. Reed was great. I could tell he was bummed I didnt pull a MJ. I did sell about two thirds of the raw cards for 1200.00 at the show and that helped it not sting as bad.

I met him at the PSA booth because I was going to go ahead sub my cards. His name is Jason and I have known him for years back when I was flipping years ago. He gets better grades than I do and he was willing to gamble.
I had a few that were REALLY nice and tons that were centered and nine qualtiy. One of the reasons I kept busting was the cards were coming out really clean and centered. I had a Dominque that was a 9/10, Checklist that was probably a 9, Malone, Jabar, Two Isiah, Magic, Mullin all that were 9/10 quality and a few others I took 1100.00 in cash and 100.00 cards for the lot. I had two of the Jeff Malones and they both looked 9ish to me.
A lot of our crew saw the cards and they were really nice. I saw the buyer take them back to Steve at BBCE so I am sure Steve can vouch for me that I sold them for that.
I thought he was giving me too much and that is why I sold them instead of subbing them myself.

as I've noted I'm feeling the tuition pain and it really grinds me the way they nickel and dime you along the way....orientation fees, miscellaneous fees, book fees, room and board, meals, meet the school president fee, etc, etc, etc....by the way the last one was not real but that's probably due to someone hasn't thought of it yet....
I want to know how a thread about BBCE pics from the National turned into a thread about college tuition, LOL..
