World Golf Championships - Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio (pics)

I got to spend the day at the practice round at the Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio today. Thought I would share some pics and a little piece of memorabilia!

It was perfect weather today and I got to follow some great golfers! Tiger went off VERY early this morning, so most people missed him, including me. Still had a BLAST!

Last year I went to the practice round and noticed how easy it was to acquire signatures from most of the golfers. This year I learned my lesson and came prepared. They only sign on practice day, so most of them sign as much as possible between every hole. Some of the big names like Tiger, Mickelson, Watson, and Fowler wait to sign at the end of the round on #18. Mickelson and Fowler spend almost an hour signing after their round, while Watson had to cut out after about 15 minutes. It's nearly impossible to get their signatures without being rude about it, thus why I didn't get any of their signatures. My favorite signature of the day was Rory McIlroy! Every golfer was really nice and generous about signing.

Now it's time to review my list and identify each signature! Rory is at the top in blue. This flag will be framed and given to my Dad for him to hang in his man cave! image

Very cool!! - that's gonna look great framed
  • When the last major was in town here, I read that Tiger teed off early in the morning as well. Even so, I think he was only signing for kids so it didn't matter how early you got there if you were trying for him.

Honestly he catches so much flack from the "hatters" that I don't blame him one bit. He's great to watch live though.

Here's a pic I took of him last year:
