1939 Play Ball Question

Are there variations to the reverse/back side of the card. I am contemplating purchasing a low grade Ted Williams, and have seen two different backs. Just curious what the deal is??

I don't have my Standard Catalog here at work, but I seem to recall there are upper case and lower case versions of the players name on the back.
There is also a stamped overprint stating something to the effect "sample card, see your dealer" etc etc. The stamp is in red but I believe it is only in the lower numbers, not in the series Williams is in or higher.
I sold my set last year but don't recall there being any noticeable difference in price between the 2 variations, and it didn't seem to be one of those issues that were pursued like other variations. More in line with gray and white backs in '56 Topps, or the statistical variations in '54 Bowman.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's
