Someone scooped a Stargell PSA/DNAed RC cheap

I was going to post on here that someone on the Blowout forum pulled a 1963 Topps Willie Stargell Rookie PSA/DNAed from the new 2012 Leaf Best of Baseball, not because I pulled it or know the person that did, but because I know that many of the autograph collectors on here are looking for that card.

Then I see on eBay that he already listed it for $300 and someone snapped it up.

Bottom line - if you are gonna do a BIN, at LEAST do a check to get a good idea of what things are going for. That is almost like the $1,000 Bobby Jones card selling for $250.

This is just more evidence that not all Buy It Now listings are over priced. Many are under priced. Some of my best buys have come from fixed price listings.

Right. Either do your homework, or if you really don't know, throw it up with a ridiculous price and let people make offers.

Is it just me, or does that Leaf product have a very unfavorable return on investment? I watched a couple of box breaks on youtube and was underwhelmed on what came out of an average box.

Isnt this true on most products? Buy 2012 topps and you might be able to flip the box for $300 with the right cards, but more likely you will flip for $0 because you dont get anything special.

Leaf is just a more expensive lottery. Same as many of the tri star products. You will likely lose big time on the investment, but you may also score bigger than you could on any other product out there.

If you want a guarantee in this day in age, buy a 10 year bond that will give you .000000000003% interest. If you want to have fun and likely throw away money, buy these types of products.
