Does anyone have a collectibles insurance policy?

I'm thinking of checking into a collectibles insurance policy to protect my collection. Anyone have a favorite company and what does it cost (per thousand?)? Did you pick and choose which items to insure? I know a big mean dog would work but I wouldn't be able to leave him alone when I go on vacation!! Any feedback/suggestions greatly appreciated. Doug

Some homeowner's policies allow you to add a rider which would then cover your collectibles. Another option would be take that money and purchase a huge safe.

Thanks Scott. Ive seen their ad on the CU page. I was hoping for feedback, especially if someone had the misfortune to have to file a claim.

Search "insurance" in this section and I think you find some decent feedback.

I think I recall discussion regarding a claim.

I have had my card collection insured with them for almost a year. Haven't had to file a claim yet.

  • Thanks everyone. From what's been posted and what I've read I'll be contacting them for insurance.

I also have a question about this collectible insurance. How do you go about buying new pieces, and selling pieces? Do you Have to contact them every time you buy or sell a card? I actually think that my woman has our valuables insured through her insurance company (same place as our cars, and Homeowners insurance)

My collection is not that big, with very few big ticket items, but with the registry's ability to add up what I've invested, it scares me to think about a disaster wiping it all out. I really need to take the time to investigate this more.

    Gun Safe

I am not sure how water would be handled, but this one should do the trick. bolt it to the ground to prevent people stealing it (It ways 700 pounds I believe). It is rated up to 1750 degrees for 1 hour, which likely means that it will only cause problems if your house burns to the ground. Also it looks pretty awesome imho.

And free shipping if you have prime image
I am working on the Nolan Ryan master set. Need 1004 more cards to complete. I might actually spend more on plastic than I did on cardboard.
