Why did Ebay assistant open a non paying bidder case when I marked the item "payment received&q

I sold 5 cards to a guy. He paid me via money order. I marked all five items as "payment received".

I also have Ebay set up to open as non paying bidder case after 8 days. I marked "payment received a few days ago. Why did Ebay open a non paying bidder case against the buyer?

Also, when I try to close the cases, the only two options are 1) "I haven't received payment yet"; and 2) "I want to cancel transaction". Why isn't there a LOGICAL third option of "Buyer paid and I want to close the case"?

I figured out how to close the case. You turn off the "assistant" and then close the case.

I still don't know why they opened a case to begin with since I marked them as "payment received"?
