Photo editing for eBay

What editing program do you guys use to have the obverse and reverse picture of a coin on one picture?

More than one picture costs $.15 I believe - I see a lot of sellers with obv/rev pictures in one..

Thanks!
Kev

Very recently, ebay changed its policy. Up to 12 pictures are free now.

I use picture window pro, it has allowed circle cropping for a long time and I got used to it. You crop and size, then insert into whatever format you set up. This one is set for 300x300 images, but you can make it whatever you want.

I believe up to 12 images are now free??? at the bay.
otherwise I use Auctiva. You can complete any listing and program it to be posted to ebay at the time you wish
Auctiva can post 24 images in to one listing without having to pay extra for it.
they also offer shipping insurance which I am checking out currently.

I use Adobe Photoshop. My wife is a pro photographer so I've got the whole Adobe suite.

"Crop" tool won't do circles, but the "selection" tool (dashed outline) allows you to select circles and ellipticals. "Select" a circle around your coin, then there's a few options. You can "cut to new layer" or "copy to new layer," you can copy/paste to another file/image, and there's always "select inverse" > "cut" to remove everything in the background leaving only your coin and transparent background.

The magic wand works too, but doesn't leave edges as clear as I prefer.

I use photoscape. It was free, will do circle crops and combine into one image, side by side or top & bottom.

Sure, but warning to all non-savvy internet users: when you click to download Photoscape, make sure you don't lick on some ad instead ... there are many ads on the page that are images of download buttons. Here's what I do to be safe:

    (1) hover your mouse over the "download" but don't click

    (2) look at your status bar (in your browser, if it isn't turned on then go to your Menu > View > Toolbars and check the Status Bar)

    (3) The status bar will show you the destination URL. If it starts with "googleads.g.doubeclick," "googleadservices" or "adsense" or something other than "photoscape.org" then DO NOT CLICK

I use the Paint program (comes with most PCs, I think) to merge the pictures into one image, and then use a Photobucket image in the body of my listing, since I don't really care for the eBay image hosting. (Too small, you have to click to enlarge, etc.) Typically what I do is go ahead and put the picture in the eBay slot so it will show there, but then I use basic HTML tags to add the Photobucket hosted version in the description as well, so that it will show full size there, and one doesn't need to click on the eBay image then. The only reason I use the eBay image at all is so that the thumbnail will display in the search results for that category.

I just point and shoot and crops as needed.

I use the IPhoto software that comes out of the box with a Mac. I also use Photobucket for the hosting since they are fine with HTML directly into my EBAY account listings. I had a problem with Flickr even with the Pro upgrade with using my photos as needed.
