The official Olympics Opening Ceremony Blows Thread

I would rather make out with the Queen than to have to watch that again.

Am I alone?

  • I thought it was done well. A little slow in the beginning perhaps. Would have been interesting if Benny Hill was still around.
  • It was second rate........way too dark with all the bad dreams and monsters and all.........plus the musical tribute section was lame......made Western culture look like it was going to hell!imageimageimage
  • Finally a thread authored by a dude here. Good to see.

I actually liked it alot. From the Shakespeare reading to the The Industrial Revolution section and the forging of iron that became the Olympic rings. Very cool IMO. The whole thing that seemlessly traced the important aspects of UKs history to today was very well done.

    If I had actually watched it, I'd have a thought on it - but since I didn't, I don't.

I felt like I was at a second rate Broadway show. I thought it was very slow through a lot of it and only towards the end did it pick up enough to earn a B- grade at best. We were also somewhat dissappointed on the lighting of the torch. China's opening ceremonies four years ago blew this away.
