How much is this bat worth?

Im new here, my apologies if this is in the wrong place.

Im starting to sell my memorabillia collection and neeed a little help. I have a Darryl Kile autographed game used bat from when he was with the Astros. I know there arent many out there so thats where I need help. What do you think this bat is worth? Theres very little info out there to go on because not many have been sold that i can find so i am at a total loss for price. I read where someone online said they paid $400 for one and thought at that price it was a steal, but I dont know if that is accurate or not. thanks.

first off, welcome! If nobody here is able to help, you might try registering over at gameuseduniverse.com - the membership there is pretty helpful. You might also want to take some pictures of the bat to show them so they can get an idea of condition & whatnot.

    good luck!

I think you would have a hard time getting $400 for it. Kile was a good pitcher but not a star and his value comes from his tragic early death. That said he was not a difficult signer and did play 11 years in the big leagues all in the NL mostly as a starter. I would think the range of $250-350 is about right.

My thoughts were the 200 to 250 range. The high end might have to come from a true fan of his or the team in which he played. Being a pitcher there was obviously less bats available of his but I dont think you will ever get more than 250 out of this bat. Good luck with it.
I am on a budget and I am not afraid to use it!!
  • thanks for the responses guys. I did try registering at gameuseduniverse but it says someone will call you to complete registration and nobody ever did, i tried twice. Anyhow, thanks for the opinions. I have lots of cards as well as a few other items so I will keep busy on these forums for a while.
