Mint Survey

Based on what you now know about the "S" Mint Mark America the Beautiful Quarters®, what are your impressions?

It's all good. I'm not interested in telling you how to run your business.
I like the S Mint Mark Quarter.

Would prefer more .999 or .9999 silver coin offerings in circulated, uncirculated, proof and reverse proofs. More choices than just over priced Silver American Eagles(I buy regardless of cost),5 oz pucks(Not buying...you really made it a .25 cents face value...duh) and sets(I buy regardless of cost).
Need more themed coin programs...coins not medals. IE: sports only, science only, space only, politics only, business only etc.) Not the current who knows what's next and why did I buy this commemorative coin... program? Mint these products in .999 or .9999 silver to kick start a new successful long lasting program. That is what the public wants. If you would bring the prices down your margins would slip but the volume would more than make up for it. Always mint to demand with a 30 day purchase window (buy now or never) Best idea from mint in all the years I have purchased. How easy is that...solves a lot of problems (storage etc.) Collectors would be all over it.
You could have sold 750,000 or more 9/11 coins if it wasn't a silly medal.
OK, so I guess I did want to tell you how to run your business...sorry.

    You are so right.

The State and America The Beautiful quarter series were good, long term programs. Generating new collectors and offering something new at reasonable intervals.

The Commemorative program? All over the place. Disorganized and unfocused. Your suggestion of fine silver, actual coins not medals, limited ordering period, lower margin spot price based cost higher volume and themed topics is perfect. Why the price can't be based on the closing daily New York or London silver spot price, no order cancellation after mint closing hours (5pm ET) is baffling. Easy and understandable. Not the complicated averaging method that may or may not kick in at some point hit or miss method currently in effect.

Themed series could feature American topics just like you suggest....Science, Business, Agriculture, Sports, Architecture, Inventions...what ever. But a series, not a random single issue. Even multiple issues a year like the ATB and States programs. This year Science, next year Architecture. All in silver, perfect for the half dollar, for collectors and maybe circulation clad versions. (not that the half circulates...when was the last time you got or used a half at the check out?)

You got it with saying collectors would be all over these. But then, your asking the mint to be customer focused not profit driven. To be innovative and not lazy. Forward thinking not repackaging over and over.

    I got the same survey.

I said multiple times that there are too many Mint products.

Wish there were questions on some of the other products like the Spouse coins.
