Have you ever.....

bought a card that was graded an 8 because it had better eye apeal than a card that was graded a 9?
I try not to get caught up in the registry being a drug thing. As I was looking at a few cards tonight on ebay I noticed that there was two cards that were graded an 8 that looked better then the 9's the same seller had. Also the price was way better as I got both 8's for less than one 9.
Bet you can't guess who I bought the cards from

Four Square Corners if they were 9s

When selling, no matter how nice your 8 or 8.5 is it is not going to sell for anywhere close to 9 money.
The only way I would ever buy a card graded below something I had was if I was reasonably sure I could get it to "bump".
Hard to do without having card in hand.
I have 3 awesome KIllebrew 8's and an 8.5 if you're interested. WAY lower than 9 prices!

then later sold it off. I've also had a 65 Topps baseball in 7 that made the 8 look like a dog when shown side by side.
