OT: My Son Performed the Anthem Last Night; UPDATE..YouTube Link

My now 21 year old son, performed the National Anthem last night for the AAA Lehigh Valley IronPigs on a saxophone. This is the 5th consecutive season he has performed there and we always "time" his performance when the Orioles AAA club, the Norfolk Tides come in. I taped the performance on my iPad and will upload it to YouTube in the near future.

Prior to the performance with Pigs HOF manager Ryne Sandberg in the background:

Not to detract from your thread (that's awesome for your son... and SANDBERG!!!) but I played the anthem on electric guitar at our local Class A minor league teams game back in 2009. It was nerve wracking, as I'm not a "solo" performer, usually having a band behind me. It was still a lot of fun and the sound bounced around the stadium like crazy!

I remember seeing these posts the last 5 years. It seems like it is not a baseball season until you post pics of your kid playing the anthem. Congrats and it is a great tradition you guys have going there.
I am on a budget and I am not afraid to use it!!

I remember the post from last year too. Pretty cool, congrats again to your son!!!

Maybe next year you can sing while he plays in the background. image

Hey! I was there last night!

He sounded great!! I even commented to the buddy I was with that he sounded really good.

My daughter played the anthem there a few weeks back with her hand bell choir.
  • Awesome! How proud you must be.
